Mapping

“One of the most effective ways to solve a complex system is by connecting these individuals and helping them take action to change the system. The creation of networks that include marginalized individuals and groups in their core is, in fact, a key element of healthy, transformed systems.”

GoPhilanthropic is constantly identifying new and innovative programs confronting difficult global issues. Partner NGOs are often times tucked away in remote rural or underserved urban areas and typically have limited resources, tools and staff.  They work courageously and relentlessly, often in relative isolation. These organizations are not always on the “international funding radar,” yet they are fighting some of the biggest issues of our time.

We often see ourselves as the weavers of relationships and programs making the world a more just place. Our key values revolve around the beautiful things that can happen when you bring people TOGETHER.  We believe strongly in the power of partnership, building networks and joining forces to learn and create a collective front.

OUR COMMITMENT TO IDENTIFYING INNOVATION:  MAPPING
We have committed ourselves to a process of Network Mapping in order to identify the people and organizations working on similar issues in a given region. In doing so, we are able to better understand the complexities of an issue facing an area and to discover the most innovative approaches being applied. Our mapping involves a thorough research on who is doing what, where and why.

BRINGING THEM TOGETHER:  NETWORK BUILDING
With a thorough “map” of the people and organizations working on similar issues within a region, we can facilitate the learning that networks need in order to scale, spread and leverage their respective ideas, tools and resources.

What happens when you build networks?

  • The flow of information is increased
  • New resources are identified
  • Local leadership is expanded and enhanced
  • Collaboration and innovation takes place
  • People and organizations from different backgrounds are brought together around a common goal
