Go Philanthropic Journeys

Join Us - Visit the Programs
GoPhilanthropic Foundation trips are offered at various times of the year to meet with the programs with which it has partnered.  Join us in learning about and appreciating the work of these great organizations in person. Please note the trips are not volunteer trips, but instead opportunities to learn about and exchange with those we are assisting.

While the funding part of what we do is critical, the pillar of our philanthropic philosophy begins with HUMILITY - simply listening, learning and then considering how we can contribute, in knowledge & resources. The trips are developed to include cultural and sightseeing visits to ensure a complete experience.  To read about our past journeys, visit our  Work in Action page.

GoPhilanthropic Travel, our partner travel company, offers private customized philanthropic journeys for private groups to: Nicaragua, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Kenya, Uganda.  Please email us for more information.

Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam

(optional extension to Hanoi and Halong Bay)
Feb 12 - 23rd, 2017
This journey, rich in culture and history, takes you from the archeological wonders of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, to serene and spiritual Luang Prabang on the banks of the Mekong, to charming Hoi An, Vietnam, an exceptionally well-preserved 15th century trading port.  While this region offers staggering beauty in so many forms, it ranks among the poorest in the world, with a lack of quality education and health services. Couple your exploration of these magnificent countries with an opportunity to meet with and be inspired by a host of courageous change-makers, community leaders and small local non-profits working hard to rebuild a stronger future through education and empowerment programs.  Take part in discussion topics relating to culture, effects of recent wars, and the opportunities and challenges in international development work.

Rebuilding Nepal:  A Journey of Resilience

This trip is offered on a privately guided basis - please inquire
Nepal is a region offering staggering beauty in many forms — home to eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, including the ultimate summit, Mount Everest.  The religious blend of Buddhism and Hinduism create a rich tapestry of ancient culture and tradition.  But despite its natural splendor and heritage, Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world and after a decade long civil war, it continues to struggle with political instability and corruption. On April 25 of this year, Nepal suffered a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake, changing the face of this country forever.

Join us as GoPhil returns to Nepal to experience the resilience of the human spirit first-hand and to see how communities are rebuilding their lives, their homes and their ancient monuments.  Since the earthquake, GoPhilanthropic Foundation has been actively involved in providing reconstruction and educational grants to small community-based programs in the region.

This journey involves meeting with a variety of courageous change-makers, community leaders and small local non-profits working hard to develop a stronger Nepal, through education, empowerment and reconstruction projects. Alongside visiting the most famous temples and spiritual sites and hiking through spectacular scenery, you will take part in important discussion topics relating to religion, recent political unrest, and most importantly, the opportunities and challenges in rebuilding this magical region.

A Journey to India

This trip is offered on a privately guided basis - please inquire
India -steeped in ancient wisdom, spiritual and inspiring, chaotic and disorienting. There is truly no way to fully describe India—one simply needs to experience it.  Combine this magical once in a lifetime journey while exploring the important challenges facing India today: educating an ever-growing margin of underprivileged and exploited children and empowering women and girls in rural villages who lack basic human rights. Journey through New Delhi, the deeply spiritual ancient city of Varanasi and rural villages surrounding Kolhapur.   Visit significant Gandhian sites, Hindu temples, and cultural sites.  Be guided through the brick kilns where children are still forced into bonded labor and meet with inspiring organizations and community leaders who are succeeding at preventing child labor, driving change and building better futures for vulnerable women and children.  Engage in important discussions relating to the ever-present caste system in India, to the biases facing young girls, women and widows, to the opportunities and pitfalls involved in fighting poverty in India.
