New Discoveries
Programs that we refer to as "New Discoveries" are small grassroots organizations that we have partnered with and who are in early but fragile stages of development. These are typically new programs, in existence for 5 years or less.
After undergoing our formal vetting process, we have found that, despite their youth, these young programs have well formed ideas, are community based, and open to learning. GoPhilanthropic begins these partnerships focusing on both formal and informal assessments to identify their needs in terms of funding, skills and knowledge. Once identified the first grant is given and we closely track the resulting development and growth. Foundation staff commit to regular communication with each of it's partner organizations, through frequent skype conversations and by conducting on-site visits each year to ensure an in-depth understanding of their needs and priorities.
