TARA Homes for Children - New Delhi, India
WHAT THEY DO
TARA HOMES is a residential service in New Delhi with an emphasis on education for vulnerable children whose families can no longer provide them with a home. This program, founded in 2008 and run by the inspirational Pascal Fautrat, is based on the belief that when children are provided with a loving, family-like environment, infused with education and opportunity, they are able to overcome all odds. The homes have grown into three shelters--TARA BOYS for boys aged 6-18 years old and TARA TOTS aged 3 to 5 years old, and TARA GIRLS aged 6-18 years old. The TARA ethos revolves around the belief that if children are raised in a family-like, tight-knit environment emotional support coupled with a high level of intellectual stimulation, children from vulnerable situations can begin to heal, learn and realize their true potential. TARA children are currently receiving an education in various reputed schools in South Delhi.
GoPhilanthropic’s partnership with Founder Pascal began just after TARA Boys opened its doors in 2008. Since then, GoPhilanthropic has witnessed the children making dramatic transformations from traumatized children to capable, happy and grounded young citizens.
