A no "hand-out" philosophy
Education is a critical component in the creation of a better future, whether for women, school children, vocational or health. Our portfolio offers carefully selected, locally managed, vetted non-profit organizations rooted in education, empowerment and sustainability. They are all committed to long-term work within their communities... join us in partnering with them.
Funding is personal
GoPhilanthropic was born from a desire to be more than a traditional check-writing charity by creating active and engaged philanthropy. We visit all the programs 1-2 times a year and document the amazing and inspirational work they are doing. We meet the people whose lives you have changed. Let us share the stories.
Genuine relationships develop
By sharing stories, photos and our field experience we hope you will feel a genuine connection to the programs you support. If you would like to visit the programs in person, GoPhilanthropic Travel can facilitate all the logistics of your journey. It is a life changing experience.
A community
Our partners, staff and donors make up a beautiful, growing group of like-minded people who care about global issues. We gather in various places--on our journeys as we visit with our grassroots non-profit partners, and at others times here in the US, within our own homes and communities. Our gatherings take many forms--from casual wine and cheese fundraisers, to discussions that explore challenging questions, to providing a platform where change-makers can share their courageous work.
Core staff are all volunteers
We are passionate about what we do and ensure that the funds raised directly impact the people who really need it. Without salaries or offices our costs are extremely lean, just like our programs.
