Women’s Resource Center (WRC)
WHAT THEY DO
WRC is a local NGO run by Cambodian women for Cambodian women. They provide emotional support, referral services and informal education workshops for free to local women. WRC believes that access to information and support is the most effective method of self-empowerment for women. WRC offers drop in sessions for one on one support and educational workshops for local women to improve their skills on financial literacy, family care, women’s health and gender issues, social issues such as domestic violence and substance abuse.
FOCUS OF OUR PARTNERSHIP
GoPhil has recently offered WRC an initial pilot grant — to produce marketing materials and spread the word about their one on one counseling service that supports women with counseling, emotional support and free referrals to local health and human services and to improve their counseling and in-house community workshop space.
THEIR VISION: Provide women and girls in Cambodia with emotional support, referral services, and informal education so they can be empowered to make informed decisions about their lives.
