Our partners ODA in Cambodia have begun an exciting new building project (funded primarily by a generous GoPhil donor) that will house up to 25 girls from the mountainous area surrounding Siem Reap.  Previously, the girls were having trouble getting to and from school due to the remote location of their villages.

The new facility at ODA will provide a shelter for these girls while they attend school and learn how to paint and sew….again, echoing director Leng’s commitment to the children affiliated with ODA receiving an education and having an opportunity for a bright future through self sufficiency.

The project is managed by one of ODA’s very first children, Trai Vet… all grown up now and a student in Civil Engineering. This is Trai Vet’s second big project ( the first was completion of one of ODA’s seven schools) for ODA and from the photos all seems to be off to a great start, including the traditional blessing of the building.

GoPhilanthropic is thrilled to be a part of funding this amazing opportunity for these girls and we look forward to visiting them again in the Spring 2016.
