Last year an incredible 473,000 people raised over $45-million on #GivingTuesday using Facebook Fundraisers. This year – in partnership with PayPal – Facebook will MATCH up to $7-million of donations made on #GivingTuesday!

Who Are We Fundraising For on #GivingTuesday?
For the past 7 years GoPhil has supported the growth and sustainability of more than 40 small, grassroots organizations working in severely marginalized communities around the world.
Partner programs are typically small and relatively fragile, yet they are tackling huge global issues such as child labor, human trafficking, gender bias, and lack of access to health care and education. Much of our work involves reaching indigenous populations and ethnic minorities who oftentimes have the least access to basic human rights.
GoPhil’s portfolio of partner programs is made up of courageous people quietly accomplishing great things. Many of the founders are victims themselves — people who had the courage to stand up against injustices.
#GivingTuesday fundraisers will support GoPhil in continuing to identify, vet and support these programs as well as maintaining the rigor involved in mentorship, leadership development, tracking funds and measuring results.
ULTRASOUND MACHINE
for Rural Mayan Communities in Guatemala
Indigenous Mayan people of Guatemala remain the most undereducated, underprivileged and unrepresented segment of society as the result of a vastly corrupt government. Access to quality health care is a crippling reality in Mayan communities.
GoPhil partner ASSADE is a small yet passionate team of courageous change makers providing 10,800 indigenous patients each year with frontline health care services that blend both western and Mayan methods of healing.
#GivingTuesday fundraising for ASSADE will provide a much needed ultrasound machine to diagnose critical maternal, neonatal and internal medical issues.
CRITICAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES
for Remote Villages in Rural Nepal
Many indigenous communities in the mountainous regions of Nepal receive little to no healthcare services. GoPhil partner PHASE offers desperately remote and deprived villages in Nepal access to basic healthcare.
PHASE recruits and trains passionate and energetic young female health workers to become confident health care providers. These women single-handedly offer preventative and primary level care as well as emergency care for villages of up to 4,000 people.
#GivingTuesday fundraising for PHASE will provide salaries for additional rural healthcare providers.
RESCUE MISSIONS
for Vietnamese Girls Trafficked to China
Every day countless girls from Vietnam and neighboring countries are trafficked to China and sold into brothels or as brides to Chinese men. Many of these victims come from ethnic minorities lacking education and opportunity.
GoPhil partner Blue Dragon works with local police to conduct rescues and prosecute traffickers. To date Blue Dragon have successfully freed 248 girls and young women trafficked for forced marriage and commercial sex work in China.
#GivingTuesday fundraising for Blue Dragon will support rescue missions which include counseling, reintegration skills, legal proceedings and advocacy services to ensure victims of trafficking can live happy, healthy and productive lives.

5 Important Things to Know About a Facebook Fundraiser
- All donations made via Facebook Fundraisers are TAX DEDUCTIBLE and donors to your fundraiser will receive a 501(c)3 tax receipt at the time their donation is received.
- Facebook WAIVES ALL PROCESSING FEES for donations made via Facebook Fundraisers.
- Facebook Fundraisers are very EASY TO SETUP. We will provide content needed to get your fundraiser up and running, but in all it should not take you more than 5 – 10 minutes to have your fundraiser online.
- Facebook MATCH applies only to donations received on #GivingTuesday and only toward the first $20,000.00 raised per fundraiser, with a maximum of $250,000.00 matched to any individual organization.
- This should be FUN! It will be incredibly powerful to watch our community to unite and share in this meaningful and easy-to-use fundraising initiative on #GivingTuesday!
