Child Sponsorship & Scholarships
GOPhil partners with several programs focusing on children’s educational needs. Most of the young children in need of sponsorships come from extremely poor and sometimes remote or indigent communities with little access to quality education. These children are often the first in their families to attend school beyond the primary grades. Sponsorships for individual children are essential as they offset a child’s school expenses from grades 1-12, providing them an important “leg up” on their educational path.
For older students, GOPhil sponsored scholarships offer exceptional students an opportunity to attend University or College without the huge burden of tuition costs. Some of these scholarships are structured as individual donor support; others are for a group of students.
Personal Engagement:
GOPhil’s sponsorship program provides donors a personal and meaningful connection to students. Donors receive periodic updates on students’ academic progress, have the chance to communicate with students through letters and photos as well as the possibility of visiting their students in person. Where a group scholarship is supported, overall reports are shared with the donor on the program itself.
