Fight Human Trafficking
In the past two years GOPhil has made a concentrated effort to support organizations fighting human trafficking— estimated to be the fastest growing industry in the world. It is known that poor and uneducated women, young girls and children are at the greatest risk of being trafficked. The sources of human trafficking are found in remote ethnic communities or rural areas where there is a lack of education, corruption is most ingrained, and where populations cannot count on the protection of government.
GOPhil has partnered with grassroots programs dealing with both the source and the results of human trafficking, at different ends of the spectrum—from the regions where girls are sold to the brothels and the factories they are forced to live in against their will. Our support is applied in the areas of:
- Prevention though Education
- Rescue and Rehabilitation
- Advocacy
