End Violence Against Women

Violence against women is a vast global issue, fundamentally rooted in gender inequality. It takes many forms—from rape, to physical, sexual and verbal abuse to dowry deaths and abandonment. Violence against women seeps into every level of society, crosses all borders and is not defined by economic or social classes or education level. GOPhil works to end such violence by funding community-based programs which focus on restoring the dignity of affected women through empowerment, vocation and education programs. Our funding is applied in various ways including support for shelters providing safe housing and counseling centers where legal support is offered. Our partner programs are committed to community outreach and advocacy in order to see the systemic change needed within the family structures.
